Home renovations/projects can really be the worst for more than one reason. They're time consuming, they sometimes cost money that we may not have at the given particular moment. Overall, they're a total drag and take up a lot of time.

Well, it turns out, the good news is it's not just you who's putting these projects off!  Porch.com recently released results to a survey they conducted asking around two thousand people what home improvement projects that they have been putting on the back burner, and one third of them apparently have put some of these projects off for more than a year! This makes me feel better that I have yet to get rid of the awful wallpaper in my kitchen and paint using the color I want.

Here's the list of the ten projects Americans put off the most:

10. Roof Repairs - Side note: I remember having to climb on the roof of my house as a teenager to seal it and fix a leak. I'm scared of heights in that kind of scenario too so that was a fun time.

9. Floor Repairs

8. Fixing and/or replacing windows

7. Fixing and/or replacing doors

6. Fixing drywall

5. Re-modeling the kitchen

4. Landscaping projects

3. Installing a new carpet

2. Re-modeling the bathroom

And finally......the number one thing American's put off when it comes to do-it-yourself home repairs:

1. PAINTING! I am so happy I am not the only person who puts off, in my opinion, one of the easiest tasks on the whole list.

Speaking of home repairs, today is the LAST day to enter our "Get 'R Done Dads" contest, where you could win a $250 Lincoln Davies Building Supply gift certificate to get done one or maybe several of the jobs you've been putting off. Maybe those projects fall on this list?
