NBC's annual "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" special begins at 8 tonight.   The tree this year is a 76 foot tall Norway spruce from Shelton, Connecticut.  It'll be decorated with 45,000 multi-colored lights with a Swarovski crystal star, 9.5 feet high, at the top of the tree.

Entertainment for the one hour show includes performances by Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, Babyface, Kelly Clarkson, The Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel and Ariana Grande.

Following the tree lighting, the Rockefeller Christmas tree will stay lit from 5:30pm until 11:30 pm and for 24 hours on Christmas.

What happens to the tree after the holidays?  It'll be used for lumber to be donated to Habitat for Humanity.

Will you be watching tonight?  Is your own tree up and decorated?
