The Lizard Charity Car Show is coming up this Saturday at the Lebanon Reservoir Campground. This year's proceeds will be donated to Homes for Our Troops Inc and  Army SPC (Ret) Edward Guldin.

The annual summer car show will take place on Saturday August 6th from 10AM - 2PM. Each year, the group donates 100% of the proceeds to different charities. In 2013 they donated $1,800 to the Wounded Warrior Project. In 2014, $1,500 was donated to the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Upstate Medical University. Last year for the Madison County Children’s Camp, $14,554 was raised.

This year they have selected Homes for Our Troops, and proceeds will be raised on Saturday for Guldin's home to be built in Adams, New York. Here's what the group shared about Guildin:

On June 12, 2011, SPC Guldin was on his first deployment in Afghanistan. On the first day of a three-day foot patrol, SPC was climbing over a wall in an area that had already been previously cleared when his foot triggered an improvised explosive device (IED). The force of the explosion caused SPC Guldin to lose both of his legs (above the knees) and severe damage to his right hand and his arm.

Transported by helicopter to Bagram Air Base, SPC Guldin was stabilized in-country and airlifted to Landstuhl, Germany. He then arrived at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland where he remained for nine months, receiving treatments and therapies. SPC Guldin was transferred to Fort Drum as part of the Warriors in Transition Unit; he is now medically retired from the Army and looking forward to the construction of his new specially adapted home in Adams, New York. Here he will have the support of his wife Amanda and family while he is still recovering.

Bring out your classic car, or hot rod, on Saturday. There is no entry fees, and no preregistration costs. The show is located at the Lebanon Reservoir Campground,
6277 Reservoir Road in Hamilton.
