The American Heart Association of Central New York is creating a 'Class of 2017,' and they're looking for local survivors to share their stories and be a part of this 'Go Red for Women' group.

Are you or someone you know a heart survivor? Whether it was a heart attack, stroke, heart defect or disease, or any other heart condition - You could be a part of the 2017 local survivor class for 'Go Red for Women.'

You'll be able to share your story and bring awareness to certain heart issues that affect women. You'll also be a part of the 2017 Go Red for Women Luncheon, held on May 3rd. You may also be a part of video and radio interviews leading up to the Go Red for Women Luncheon, along with other fun activities - All to bring awareness to women's health and how important heart health is.

If you are a part of the 2017 Local Survivor Class, you may also be asked to attend certain events including Lunch and Learn Programs, Circle of Red, Men Go Red, and Open Your Heart Events, along with a few other local functions.

To be considered for the 2017 Local Survivor Class, you'll need to submit your application including a short description of how you have been affected by heart disease or stroke. To get the application form, you can email Anne Sullivan at: anne.sullivan@heart.org

Applications must be in by Monday, September 12th.
