So you didn't win the Mega Millions jackpot and you're not a billionaire. There were still a LOT of winners in this historic drawing, including four tickets in our state that are worth a million dollars.

It was definitely a big night for the lottery last night (Tuesday, October 23rd). One single ticket hit the Mega Millions jackpot worth nearly 1.6 billion dollars. Unfortunately, that ticket was sold in South Carolina.

But there were still a lot of other winners, and a lot of winners from New York. According to MegaMillions.com, there were 36 tickets sold that hit the second place prize in the drawing, which is one million dollars. Out of those 36 tickets, two of them had the "multiplier" option, and were worth three million dollars. MegaMillions.com also says 419 tickets won the third place prize of $10,000. Out of those tickets, 51 had the "multiplier" option and were actually worth $30,000.

Four tickets sold in New York were worth a million dollars. Unfortunately, none of those tickets were sold in Central New York. None of them were even close to us. According to the New York Lottery the four winning tickets were sold in Hauppauge, Yonkers, and two were sold in Brooklyn. All those tickets were "easy pick" options. Just FYI.

The winning numbers were:

5, 28, 62, 65, 70,
Mega Ball: 5

So you didn't win the historic Mega Millions jackpot. That's okay, because thanks to a Boston Red Sox Player, we're ALL winners. The big drawing was on the same night as Game 1 of the World Series, and Taco Bell's "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion is back this year. So... What I'm getting at is a base was stolen in the game, and now everyone can get a free taco from Taco Bell. You can get details on getting your free taco at the link below.

And if you're still bummed out about not being a billionaire (or millionaire), the Powerball jackpot is getting pretty big. The estimated jackpot for tonight's drawing (Wednesday, October 24th) is at 620 million dollars.
