4th Anniversary of Fay Street Warehouse Implosion

It was a frigid Sunday morning, four years ago. We were among a small group of people given slightly closer access to the planned implosion to make way for the new North-South Arterial Bridge. What we were about to see would change the area forever.

#UticaBigBang2014 - It all started with a contest in January 2014, where the New York State Department of Transportation gave one lucky winner the chance to "pull the trigger" on the detonator. The date for the implosion was then set for March 2, 2014.

It was an amazing experience to hear the series of explosions, then watch in perfect coordination as the building crumbled from one side to the other. There was only minimal debris that spilled onto the old Arterial bridge.

Quite a different view today - have you forgotten that old warehouse or do you still picture it when you drive by?
