It looks like winter doesn't want to end quietly, with this big winter storm hitting Central New York and all over the Northeast. It's not the worst news we could get this week, though.

Sure spring is supposed to start next week and this winter storm is going to make it feel like it's further off, but there are a lot of other things that could happen that would be worse with this storm. We wanted to have a little fun, because hey, it's weather... And it's something we can't control so we're just going to have to deal with all this snow. So here's our way of trying to make it a little brighter... We're trying to find that silver-lining.

1. It's a Winter Storm Warning Not a Blizzard Warning

Areas to our south and southeast are under a blizzard warning with this snowstorm. Luckily for us, it isn't that bad. We're not going to get the worst of the snow or the worst of the wind, so we guess that's a positive.

2. Central New Yorkers KNOW How to Handle the Snow

This isn't our first snowstorm... It's not even that bad of a snowstorm. Yes, it's a bummer because most of us thought we were done with the snow, but it isn't like we're expecting three feet of that annoying, fluffy stuff. That would definitely be a lot worse. This snow though, this is something that will be a piece of cake for us to handle.

3. It's Not Supposed to Get Really Cold

So we're going to have to deal with shoveling and messy roads again, it's not ideal, but it's not the worst news we could get. Imagine if they were calling for below zero temperatures with this storm. That would be awful. It will still be cold, but it won't be unbearable.

4. We're Not Expecting Ice with This Storm

We're not going from warm weather into cold temperatures. Usually when that happens we get that wintry mix, freezing rain, and sleet before the snow starts piling on. Luckily, that's not the case with this storm. Yes roads will still be slick and messy, but we won't be worried about ice accumulation under the snow (BUT: That doesn't mean there won't be any ice on the roads between the first batches of snow melting and refreezing after more snowfall, we're just saying it won't be as bad as an ice storm first. Please don't take that as an excuse NOT to be careful out there).

5. It's Still Winter

Can you imagine if we got hit with this snowstorm in April? What a bummer that would be. We would already be into spring and starting to look forward to the trees budding, the flowers coming out, and summer being around the corner. To get hit with a storm like this in April would just be devastating. Technically it's still winter, we guess we should just expect this out of Mother Nature by now.
