There's a fever going around that's highly contagious and it affects absolutely everyone and everything. Nothing is immune, the young, the old, our pets, wild animals even our environment.

    The Itch

It starts on a warm sunny day. You'll get an itch that's hard to recognize. Something is pushing you to purge your surroundings and brighten it up. Something is telling you to get ready for parties and gatherings. Open the pool, pull out the grill,  get the patio furniture back on the deck. Everything has to be squeaky clean, add a fresh coat of paint, power wash whatever you can outside, clean the windows, wash the curtains, buy some flowers. Hurry, hurry, hurry. Then you remember it's the itch to spring clean. A symptom of spring fever.

    No Appetite

Loss of appetite is also a symptom of spring fever. It's hard to pinpoint why our hunger pangs have vanished. Why we don't want heavy, greasy, gravy covered food. It's spring fever again. Now that the sun is shining, temperatures are warmer we're craving healthy, natural foods that make us feel good and give us energy.

    Breathless

Are you feeling stifled, cooped up, can't breathe? Yup, it's spring fever. We feel the need to get outside and stretch our legs, sit on the swing, enjoy the fresh air, just enjoy being outside. Dust off your bike or get reacquainted with your sneakers and go for a walk. Find fido's leash and take him too. He's feeling it. He want's to run, play, jump, and find some manure to dig in.

    Activities

That urge to get the convertible out, cleaning up the motorcycle, dragging out the kayaks, re-spooling the fishing polls, oil up the softball gloves, if this sounds like you, then you picked up spring fever. It's so contagious. It's not your fault. It happens to the best of us.

    Panic

Panic is definitely part of spring fever. How the heck are you going to fit in your spring and summer clothes after hibernating all winter? You panic. Panic is also what the spouse feels because you're now reaching for their charge card. Isn't it their fault you put on a few pounds?
