Have you ever done or wanted to do a "Food Challenge?" There's a unique one that's worth the drive if you're up for something hot.

Thanks to one of my coworkers, I heard about this amazing food challenge just outside of Syracuse. Now, I've always wanted to do a food challenge... I think it's something about the idea of eating a bunch of food and not feeling guilty about it because it's a challenge. That, and when I'm hungry, I can be a real pig sometimes.

Anyway, this food challenge is at the Village Burger in Liverpool. It's called the "Towering Inferno Challenge," and it consists of a one-pound double-decker burger with pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and their homemade "Inferno Sauce." It also comes with a large order of fries topped with cheese sauce, bacon, and habanero peppers.

You have 30 minutes to complete the challenge, you can only have water to drink with the meal, and you have to wear gloves (probably so you don't get the sauce on your face or eyes, because it's sure to burn).

This food challenge sums up most of my favorite things: burgers, fries, cheese, bacon, and of course spiciness. I love hot food! But this may be even a little too much for me. Even so, it's still something I would love to try.

The only other food challenge I would love to try (and know that I could really rock), is if there is a nacho food challenge, or even a taco one. Is there any challenges like that in Central New York? Do you know of one? Or any other food challenges in the area? Let me know about them.
