Have you seen Darien Lake's newest roller coaster yet? Check out this video, and see what it's like up close on the 'Tantrum.'

Let me just start by saying Darien Lake is the place to go for thrill-seekers and roller coaster lovers in New York. For this week's "98 Seconds with Naomi Lynn" video, I first give a little introduction to Darien Lake, and show off some of my favorite coasters. Favorites like, the "Mind Eraser," "Viper," and of course, the tallest coaster in New York, the "Ride of Steel."

But now Darien Lake has added to their coaster collection with the "Tantrum," and this coaster is pretty crazy. Watch riders go straight up, and take a plunge at a more-than-90-degree-angle. You can see it in the 98 seconds video (at the top of this page). And you can see the way the track twists and turns, and takes riders from one side to another. It's just as interesting to watch as it is to ride it!

...Okay, it's more fun to ride it. But still, watching it is pretty cool.

The Tantrum is the first roller coaster to open at Darien Lake since they introduced the Moto Coaster in 2008. If you haven't gotten a chance to take a ride on this coaster or see it in person, I definitely suggest you do. Plus, you'll be right next to the "Potato Works" stand so you can get some fully loaded fries or even a poutine burger. But all the videos and photos just don't do the "Tantrum" justice. You have to see it for yourself.
