What is the Answer to the Giraffe Challenge on Facebook?

Chances are you're here because you've seen the 'Giraffe Challenge' riddle on Facebook. Curious what the answer is? Riddles are of course open to interpretation - read below to see what we think.

Here is the riddle that is most commonly associated with the Giraffe Challenge:

3:00 am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors, it's your parents and they are there for breakfast. All you have is strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?

 

Of course the misdirection is that you're supposed to read the list of foodstuff and think about opening one of those first.

But first, you'd need to open the door for your unexpected guests.  So is door the answer?
Perhaps. Although, remember that the riddle begins with you fast asleep. So would the first thing you open be your eyes?

Again, riddles are open to interpretation. So is it the door, or eyes or something else?
