The Oswego boy who captured the heart of thousands as he bravely battled cancer for four years, has been laid to rest. Services for Julian Ross were held yesterday and his mother said her final goodbye.

Kristi Thompson shared her final farewell on Facebook:

Dearest Julian,

Today, we kissed your lips one last time and let you go. We will always be honored and blessed that we were chosen to be your parents. I know you keep dropping feathers for me to find and even as I write this, a hummingbird hovered and stared at me. It made me smile. Everywhere I look I see you, if I close my eyes I can see your smile and hear your voice. I love you to the moon and back and to infinity.

Ross passed away from Stage IV Neuroblastoma Saturday August 8, at 3:30AM.

Thousands of people from around the world have followed Julian's journey on Facebook, not only praying for him but also helping Julian cross items off his bucket list. The gifts started rolling in; from hockey jerseys and Disney gifts to a new Xbox.

Cincinnati Bengal Devon Still, who's daughter battled cancer, paid his respects after hearing Ross passed away. "I had to pay my respect to one of the strongest kids I know, Julian Ross. I just woke up to a text saying he passed away and I’m not going to lie it hurt. I’ve met so many amazing kids over this past year and cancer has cut short so many of their lives. I don’t have a master plan but I promise you I will keep fighting for these kids and I hope you all will help me. Please pray for his family.”

In addition to the gifts and prayers, people have donated thousand to Julian's Joust campaign to help the family cover medical costs and funeral expenses at GoFundMe.com/Juliansjoust. Since Julian wanted this "bad army" never to affect anyone else, the family is hoping everyone will help him fulfill this one open item on his bucket list by continuing to donate to cancer research.
