Adam Levine In Hot Water After ‘I Hate This Country’ Comment on ‘The Voice’

Twitter

ADAM LEVINE is catching some heat for an off-handed comment during Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Voice.’ He was heard saying ‘I hate this country’ hen two of his artists were sent home because they didn’t get enough votes.

He wasn’t on camera at the time and may not have realized his microphone was on when Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons were eliminated.  Regardless, people FREAKED OUT on social media.  Some were even calling for Adam to be FIRED.

Adam responded on Twitter by tweeting dictionary definitions of joke, humorless, lighthearted and misunderstand.

That seemed to fan the flames, because then people started ripping him for that.

So Adam released an actual statement, explaining the comment.

“I obviously love my country very much and my comments were made purely out of frustration. I’m passionately invested in my team and want to see my artists succeed. [The] elimination of Judith and Sarah was confusing and downright emotional for me and my comments were made based on my personal dissatisfaction with the results. I’m very connected to my artists and know they have long careers ahead, regardless of their outcome on the show.”

I have ONE word for everyone who is offended by Levine’s comment.  RELAX! I heard him say it when I watched and didn’t give it a second thought.  I knew he was just frustrated and upset 2 of his 3 artists were sent home in one night.  He doesn’t REALLY hate America.

In the words of Terri Clark ‘The World Needs a Drink.’
