Adopt A Pet Wednesday: Meet Murphy and Smiley

Remember, Don't shop...Adopt! On this adopt-a-pet Wednesday, we would like to feature two pets currently living at the Stevens-Swan Humane Society. These wonderful pets are looking for a new home, perhaps yours?

Murphy was taken to the humane society with his two daughters because he gets excited around children. Soon after arriving, the girls quickly adapted with their out going personalities, but Murphy hasn't had as much luck. Murphy is a 1 1/2 year old Pit Bull/Australian Shepherd mix. He does take quite a bit of time to warm up to new people, but once he does he bonds very strongly. He is a smart and energetic guy who needs an active home to help burn off some of his energy. He knows tricks and listens very well. He loves to play with other dogs, we are actually recommending that he goes to a home with another dog, so he is more comfortable. He is good with cats as well, but can not be placed into a home with children because of his fearfulness. Murphy is a great dog who just needs a loving and patient owner.

Okay, who wants a pet lion? Meet Smiley, he is the closest you can get. This handsome boy is around 6 years old and is the tallest cat in the building. Smiley is a complete gentleman and would love to be the king of your home! He is a friendly cat who loves people! He gets a long with other cats okay and even dogs. Is Smiley for you?
