As the American Heart Association gets ready for their Go Red for Women Luncheon and Health Fair, we decided to talk with local survivors - those in our area who have been affected first hand.

Meet Bonnie Hubbell - she is the first guest I talked to. Bonnie suffered a stroke, and shared her story with us.

I think the best thing anyone could take away from this video is to remember not to ignore the symptoms. It's easy as women to think we're okay, that we're just getting sick or feeling tired. But trying to be tough and ignore those symptoms is what usually gets us in trouble. If something doesn't feel right, go see a doctor. It's better to be safe, than sorry!

The American Heart Association is hosting their 'Go Red for Women Luncheon and Health Fair' Wednesday May 6, at Danielle's Banquet Specialists in New Hartford. More information can be found at heartofutica.heart.org
