While we patiently await next week's 'American Horror Story: Asylum's season finale "Madness Ends" to wrap up the pure insanity of the show's second season, plans are already forming for the FX horror drama's third season. Where previously series creator Ryan Murphy confirmed Jessica Lange would return for the third cycle, now Murphy has revealed that seasons 1 and 2 stars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will return as well! But where and when will the new season take place? Find out the "romantic" details of 'American Horror Story' season 3 inside!

'American Horror Story: Asylum' has yet to come to a season finale, but series creator Ryan Murphy already has us looking forward to 'American Horror Story' season 3. Following a press screening of the finale today, Murphy spoke to reporters about the third season's focus and cast, revealing that current series leads Evan Peters (Kit Walker) and Sarah Paulson (Lana Winters) would join Jessica Lange for the third season, likely to debut in fall 2013.

Murphy confirmed that 'American Horror Story's next season would take place in modern-day, and take the form of a romance, with a female antagonist. Previously, Murphy had teased of the third season that he hoped to revisit a 'Romeo and Juliet'-style relationship like that of season 1 characters Tate Langdon (Peters) and Violet Harmon (Taissa Farmiga) as well as highlight a more glamorous kind of evil than the previous two seasons.

The creator claims to have chosen the romantic angle partly out of a desire to return to "something funnier," as with Lange's season 1 character Constance Langdon, while this time around the actress' character will be “a glamour cat leading lady.” Peters' role will likely "go back to playing a sobbing psychopath,” as with Tate in the first year. Murphy also clarified that while set in modern times, 'American Horror Story' season 3 would still visit several time periods and cities as well, being "more historical in nature."

As with 'American Horror Story''s second season casting, we can expect more familiar faces from the first season to be announced over time, as well as new actors and stars that “Jessica wanted to work with.”

Well, what say you? Are you intrigued to see a more romantic side to 'American Horror Story' season 3? What actors beside Jessica Lange, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson would you like to see return? Stay tuned for more details and tell us what you want to see in the comments!
