Americans Views On Love And Marriage

Why wait until Valentine’s Day to find out what we Americans think about love? 60 Minutes and Vanity Fair polled Americans to get their views on love, marriage and relationships.
Apparently love at first sight isn’t reserved for those romantic movies. 56% polled believe in love at first sight and the number is even higher for those married or already in a relationship. Open relationships aren’t favored by 50% surveyed, who think they’re a mistake. How about love and marriage? Should a man still ask a father for his daughter’s hand in marriage? The answer surprised me. 45% of Americans think a man should ask her father because it’s the courteous thing to do. Less than 5% thought doing so was offensive or sexist. The toughest part about marriage, according to 28%, is “for better or worse.” 26% think being faithful is the hardest part of marriage. What do you think, is love at first sight possible?
