Hopefully you don't know anyone affected by heart disease. Unfortunately, it's America's number one killer and we want to put an end to it once and for all!

This year, the American Heart Association is hoping to raise a little over one million dollars to help stomp out heart disease, and I'm playing a part in the 44th Annual WIBX Slocum Dickson Heart Radiothon!

The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases, the Nation's No.1 and No.4 killers, claim more than 813,804 American lives a year. (Heartwalk)

We're hoping our listeners will rally around this cause and consider making a financial contribution. 10,000 of our closest friends will be there and we all agree that heart disease stinks! Naomi Lynn and I will be participating in the H&R Block Treadmill Challenge between 4 and 5pm tonight at the Utica College campus. Naomi and I can't get off the treadmill until we raise $300 in pledges!

I know times are tough, and I never like asking my listeners to make financial contributions because there's a chance you may be barely making it yourself. If at all possible, and if it won't break your bank, please make a phone call during the hours of 4 and 5 tonight and show your support for this cause. I know that central New York communities are among the most generous in the nation.

Here's the phone number to call: 624-9429

Thank you for anything you can do!
