Oscar Nominee Viggo Mortenson paid a visit to the place he grew up, Watertown, New York. While he was there, he visited his favorite local spots, and went virtually unrecognized.

Writer, Lisa Depaulo had the pleasure of riding with Mortenson during his commute from the "Salt City" to Watertown. Mortenson currently lives in Madrid, Spain but returned to Upstate, New York to visit his father who is sick.

Mortenson's latest journey to Watertown was documented in the Esquire magazine cover story, and he is a graduate of Watertown, High, and St. Lawrence University. He's also a fan of Syracuse basketball too. According to Syracuse.com:

The interview took place mostly in the car, though they made stops at an unidentified Upstate New York waterfall, a diner by Lake Ontario, and a pharmacy to pick up medicine to bring to Mortensen's father at his Watertown farmhouse.
