The hole Kmart left when they closed down in New Hartford may soon be filled with another retail chain.

It looks like the home decor superstore "At Home" is interested in opening their business in the old Kmart building on Commercial Drive. According to WKTV, the business has been in talks with New Hartford officials about this plan.

If everything works out and the chain is able to open in our area, what can Central New Yorkers expect? Well, "At Home" is not only known for their impressive inventory of home decor, but they also carry furniture, bedding, things for storage and to help you stay organized, and even backyard and patio items. It's the perfect store for those looking to make a few changes or upgrades to their home.

Now, this isn't a guarantee that "At Home" IS coming to the area. According to WKTV, they still have to file an application with the New Hartford Planning Board by the end of next week. In the meantime, if you're really excited for this store to open up, or you want to learn more about what their stores, you can check out the video below:

And if you want to experience it for yourself, there is another "At Home" location; it's inside Destiny USA is Syracuse.

It's always a bummer to see stores in the Central New York area having to close their doors, but on the flip side it does allow new and different businesses to move in. Hopefully "At Home" will be approved and bring in new customers to the New Hartford area.

What do you think? Should "At Home" move into the old Kmart building? Would you rather the building stay empty? Or do you have another idea of what could be put in that spot? Let us know.
