Reward Being Offered for Information on Serious Assault Case

The Rome Police Department is seeking the public's help in an investigation into a serious assault case. In the early hours of Monday morning, a male resident of Curtis Street in Rome was awakened by the sound of his car alarm. When he exited his residence he discovered three men looking through his vehicle.

Boil Water Order Continues In City of Rome

A boil water order remains in effect for the City of Rome. According to Mayor Jackie Izzo, despite an early detection of E. coli. in a water sample taken on Tuesday, the problem has been addressed, and should be resolved soon. Izzo says, "Following Oneida County and State Health Department protocols, the boil water order must stay in effect for another 24 hour sampling of the water supply. An update will be given afternoon."

Shots Fired Outside of Townsquare Media in Marcy

UPDATE (11:21 AM): According to Sheriff Maciol two vehicles were involved in shots fired that started on North Genesee Street in the City of Utica.  The Vehicles then continued onto River Road in a Westerly direction in the Town of Marcy.  The vehicles then pulled into a parking lot near Utica Mack Truck where one of the vehicles collided into the rear end of the other. More gunshots were fired and the vehicles continued out of the parking lot and back onto River Road. The vehicles traveled in an easterly direction back towards the City of Utica.  Once back in the City of Utica, one of the vehicles was stopped by the Utica Police Department who impounded the vehicle.  Two people were being questioned regarding the incident.  The investigation is ongoing and is being investigated by the Utica Police Department and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Units.

Rope Rescue at Chittenango Falls State Park Saves Teen

Crews were called to Chittenango Falls State Park on Sunday for a rope rescue after a teen girl fell into a gorge. She fell 10 feet as she was hiking on one of the trails. According to the Madison County Fire Departments Facebook page, multiple agencies including Chittenango and Cazenovia volunteer firefighters arrived on the scene to assist.

Just after 4:00 p.m. on Monday Utica Police responded to a report of a robbery at the GPO Federal Credit Union located on the corner of Bleecker Street and John Street. Police have a description and photos of the suspect and are looking for any information possible that may lead to his arrest.
