We all like to share our opinions and “likes” all over the internet, so the geniuses at Pinterest created a way for us to just clip, collect and post the things we see and love, and then share them with the world.
Seems simple, right? Well, not really. There are a few things you need to know to make your Pinterest experience very pinteresting. (Sorry, couldn’t resist.)
Everyone enjoys putting on their best green clothes on March 17th and being Irish for a day. We’ve all heard there was a saint and something to do with snakes in Ireland and now we have parades and drink green beer. But what do we really know about St. Patrick’s Day?
Everyone knows that St. Patrick’s Day is the one day out of the year when we’re all Irish. And, apparently that translates into wearing anything green and silly we can get our hands on and having as much to drink as we can carry at one time. But, there’s another strange tradition that has developed in celebration of this day. We can’t explain it. Are Irish people really that into unnaturally green food?
Women make the world go ‘round. Ok, we need men too, or the world would be lopsided and there would be no one to open jars, but it’s International Women’s Day, so we’re focusing on the fairer sex and how they make the world a better place.
For the most part, iconic movie characters become indistinguishable from the actors who played them on the big screen. But what if the actors who were originally approached to play the roles had said “yes” instead of “no?” With Jennifer Hudson’s revelation in her new book that she turned down the title role in ‘Precious’ that put Gabourey Sidibe on the map, it’s a good time to take a look at some other actors who changed the faces of movie icons.
The weather can make it tough to get a golden tan all year ’round. So when you need that sun-kissed look at the wrong time of year, you have to take matters into your own hands. It is not at all uncommon to turn to tanning beds, self-applied tans or spray tans, but these don’t always go the way they’re supposed to. And, because we keep seeing celebrities do it at major events, we thought we’d find some of the best tanning fails the internet has to offer.
Somewhere along the way, February 28th was declared Public Sleeping Day. There is no record of what tired person made this so, but the fact is that it’s a day. A day when you can go out and sleep in public, if you dare.
Friday, March 2nd is a date that we must celebrate. On March’s second day, we must say “Hooray!” With a “Yip yip yippee yay,” for Dr. Seuss’ own birthday. In celebration of Dr. Seuss Day, on the day of Theodor Seuss Geisel’s birth, (March 2nd, 1904, to be exact), we have dug up 15 facts about the self-proclaimed doctor that you might not know.
Yesterday, the world lost a pop culture icon. Davy Jones, lead singer and adorable tambourine player for the TV troublemakers and original boy band The Monkees, passed away after a sudden heart attack. Much like his Beatles counterparts, this British heart throb was a teen idol and drove girls crazy around the world.
