The cold winter weather is especially hard on the big dogs at Stevens-Swan Humane Society, who struggle to stay warm in their cement kennels. But you can help.

The Stevens-Swan Humane Society needs your large blankets.

According to Stevens-Swan:

"We are in desperate need of large comforters. We will take new or used. At the shelter we have mostly large breed dogs, so to keep them warm we are looking for thick blankets to put on their Kuranda beds. The smaller fleece blankets and towels work great for the cats and we have a lot of them. Right now we have 76 dogs in our building and only have a few large comforters. Bedding is washed daily and the comforters hold up better than dog beds. I know everyone is busy getting ready for Christmas but the pups would love a comfy blanket to snuggle with.

Donations can be dropped off anytime, if we are closed we do have a bin out front for drop off."

You can reach the Stevens-Swan Humane Society at (315) 738-4357. They're located at 5664 Horatio St in Utica.
