Come out for a fun time this coming Sunday as Uticans unite for a celebration in historic Bagg's Square.

Back in 1978,  the Bagg's Square Association was on a resolute mission to save Union Station. Now it's been given new life, and they're inviting the city of Utica to come out to commemorate the area's continued growth by throwing a block party on July 31 from 11-3 at 100 Genesee Street.

The event will feature: the Utica Zoomobile, Shriner's Clowns, face painting for the kiddos, firetrucks, and live music from D. Funk D. The party will also have live art demonstrations, a police car display, and hot rod cars.

Oh yeah, there will also be food..lots of it! Area food trucks, will be on the scene cooking up some of the Utica's finest fare, and Bagg's Square restaurants will be offering a variety of specials during the event too.

The opening ceremony takes place at 11:30am, with a plaque dedication to the Landmark Society thanking them for assistance with the freshly retouched mural at 98 Genesee Street.
