Our friends over at Maxim did a survey with the question: “What’s the biggest potential turnoff when first meeting a man?” Here’s the results:

Bad hygiene- 37 percent

“Pickup artist” tactics (such as backhanded compliments)- 21 percent

Attention-seeking behavior- 19 percent

Extreme shyness- 4 percent

Off-color remarks- 9 percent

Talk of his ex- 6 percent

Arrogance- 4 percent

Is there a way to bounce back from a bad first impression?
