Bobcat Attacks Couple Near Albany

A woman and her husband were treated at a hospital after being attacked by a bobcat Wednesday afternoon near Albany. The couple was visiting a neighbor in the town of New Scotland, just west of the State Capital.

The Albany County Sheriff told the Albany Times Union that the woman was playing with a dog in the backyard of the home when she heard a hissing sound.  She was then attacked from behind by the bobcat.

The woman's husband fought off the animal using a chair, but was also bitten.  The homeowner then shot and killed the bobcat.
