One of the most popular Comets is moving on to the NHL! Unfortunately, Brandon Defazio has joined Cal O'Reilly and Bobby Sanguinetti, among others, on the list of players who will not return to Utica next season. This is yet another tough dismantling announcement for our boys in blue and green and Defazio's presence will most definitely be missed.

Brandon made this statement via The Utica Comets Twitter:

Brandon didn't just shine on the ice, he was also very involved with the community. This past March, Defazio hosted the 'Hockey for Hope' event to benefit the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. There is no doubt that he was a fan favorite and his contribution to our team and our city will never be forgotten. Thank you Brandon for all you did! You will always be a Utican to us.
