Craft beer drinkers across Central New York get ready for a wider variety of options. Over the course of the next few months, into spring of next year, 7 new breweries are coming to Syracuse.

According to Syracuse.com, there are currently seven breweries in Onondaga County, and seven are on the way.

The boom in the number of craft brewery projects in Central New York mirrors the increase in the state as whole -- which has doubled its number in the past decade to more than 200. The United States currently has more breweries than any time since before Prohibition. But all this also comes at a time when the sale of mainstream domestic beer -- Bud, Miller, Coors -- remains flat, forcing the world's biggest companies to plan a merger."

The seven that are on deck to open are Red Hawk Brewing, Willow Rock Brewing, Full Boar Brewing and Tap Room, Stout Beard Brewing, Griffin Hill Farm Brewery, Seneca Street Brewpup, and IBU. Most of these will open by spring time of 2016.
