Bridgit Mendler is highlighting the sights of L.A. in her new video for ‘Ready or Not.’ With a group of friends in tow, the 19-year-old takes on the city, crossing off items on a fun scavenger hunt list.

‘Ready or Not was directed by Philip Andelman (Beyonce, John Mayer, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift) and shot in multiple locations around Los Angeles, including the vibrant beach and boardwalk of Venice. She hits a sushi restaurant, indulges in hula hooping, drives around in a convertible and soaks up the California sunshine, while performing her new single.

The song, which includes an interpretation of the chorus in the Delfonics hit ‘Ready or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love),’ is upbeat and pop-driven, with a little bit of reggae influence. The tune is featured on Mendler’s Hollywood Records debut, ‘Hello My Name Is…,’ due out in October.

“I wanted to write something that was empowering for girls,” she said in a press release. “I consider myself to have been that girl sitting on the curb waiting for the world to notice.”

Mendler will be making several appearances leading up to the release of her album. She’ll appear at the NY State Fair in Syracuse, N.Y. on Aug. 25; the Family Channel Concert in Toronto, Canada on Aug. 26; the LA County Fair in Pomona, Calif. on Sept. 15; and the Texas State Fair in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 8.
