Britney Spears' fate for Season 3 of 'X Factor' may be a matter of much media speculation, but one thing is certain. Brit Brit is both "hard at work" and "focused" on her eighth studio album, which will follow 2011's "comeback" affair 'Femme Fatale.'

Brit engaged in a brief Twitter chat with fans on Dec. 30, telling the Brit Brit faithful that she is "collaborating with some new inspiring producers" and that she is "working hard."

Judging from the signer's tweets, she has a singular goal right now and that's her music.

She also posted "really focused on my music right now," which may or may not be a reference to the fact that she is leaving the music of others (on the show) behind in favor of her own tunes. You never know. She did not make any direct references, however, to the show or her status for Season 3. In fact, it almost seemed like she was trying to avoid it.

Brit also shared how she spent New Year's Eve. Instead of taking in any paparazzi-laden parties, she chose to say home with her boys – probably sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, as well as fiancé Jason Trawick- and her new puppy Hannah.

She tweeted: "Spending a quiet New Years Eve in with my boys and little miss @hannahspears. Let's hear some interesting resolutions for 2013?"

Sounds like heaven!

PopCrushers, do you think Brit Brit will be back on 'X Factor' or is she a "one and done" mentor?

Update: According to EW, Britney is definitely going to be working with Hit-Boy (the mastermind behind 'N----s in Paris') and her 'Scream & Shout' duet partner, will.i.am.
