Broadway Utica Presents ‘Phantom’ Sequel
The phantom from the famous opera lives. He's back in business, this time in New York's Coney Island neighborhood.
That's the colorful-but-dark physical backdrop--rickety rides, boardwalks, carnival freaks--for Broadway Utica's sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.
The timeline to Love Never Dies is 1907, ten years after the famous phantom has disappeared from the Paris opera houxse where he came to life
We had the chance to get up close and personal with Sean Thompson, the actor who portrays Raul, the young man who has won Christine's heart and shares the parenting of young Gustave. Without giving away everything, all is not what it seems...
In a compelling interview at our Lite 98.7 studio, Thompson, along with Broadway Utica's Executive Director Derek Clark (above with Lite 98.7 morning hosts Beth & Dave), gave us a glimpse behind the curtain, and behind his and other characters, as Love Never Dies prepares to thrill Central New York crowds.
Thompson is a graduate of Temple University's Drama and English departments.
The shows come to life at Utica's legendary Stanley Theater, which Thompson praised as a magnificent venue for this particular play. Here's all you need to know:
