UPDATE (10/7): "24k Magic" is here"! Watch the video below.

Bruno Mars has announced his forthcoming lead single "24k Magic" will drop this Friday (October 7), lending credence to the rumors that claim an accompanying album will hit shelves before 2016's end.

The "Grenade" singer unveiled the news in a series of Instagram posts earlier today (October 3), revealing the single artwork along with it. Mars wrote, "Excited to announce '24k Magic,' out this Friday!! You can call it my first single, but I call it the invitation to the party."

"24k Magic" marks the first single off Mars' untitled third studio album, the follow-up to 2012's Unorthodox Jukebox. And while the "Locked Out Of Heaven" singer has yet to announce a definitive release date for his upcoming fourth album, he let his Twitter followers know that it's officially finished.

Mars' bassist, Jamareo Artis, gave an extensive interview to Bass Player early last month, where he promised the new album will be out later this year and a tour will follow shortly after.

“We’ve been working on it for about a year, trying different ideas and experimenting,” Artis told the publication. “I don’t know what’s going to be included in the final version, but it’s going to have a new sound, and so far the material is very groove-oriented. It’ll be out sometime this year, and then we’ll hit the road again.”

Skrillex also admitted to working with Mars, indicating the "Uptown Funk" singer was exploring a new sound.

“I’m actually working with Bruno Mars right now,” Skrillex told Billboard back in June. “I’m not going to give specifics of what it sounds like, but what we’re doing is so f—king different, awesome and next level and sounds like nothing else that’s happened before.”
