New York State Thruway and Roads Around Buffalo Remain Impassable Due to Lake Effect Snow [VIDEOS]

This photo from the New York State Police truly tells the story of today's historic (and that's not hyperbole) lake effect snow event. The Buffalo suburb of Cheektowaga recieved over 50 inches of snow. The massive snowfall caused the New York State Thruway to be closed through all of Western New York past Rochester.

Many other roads in the Buffalo area are equally impassable.
