Burned Plastic Stinks, So Don’t Forget To Read Those Care Instructions
Are you good about reading instructions? Not just the ones to put stuff together, but the ones that tell how to care for a product.
I recently bought some new kid's plastic spoons, which I washed in the dishwasher. What a disaster. The problem was I hadn't bothered to read the "care" instructions on the back of the package. The instructions which said the spoons should only be placed on the top dishwasher rack. I had put them on the bottom rack and went to bed. About forty minutes later I awoke to the smell of smoke. A couple of the spoons had melted and the smell was awful. If you've ever smelled burning plastic, you know exactly what I mean. Yuck. The smell inside the dishwasher has finally gotten better and I've learned my lesson. Read the labels.
