Candles For Manly Men
March 18, 2011 10:15 AM Buttercream, rose, lily of the valley and summer cotton are all candle scents, but perhaps they’re too feminine for guys. What scents would appeal to a guy? A thirteen year old boy in Ohio thinks he knows and he’s made a business out of it.
The candles, called “Mancans” are the brainchild of Hart Main. He came up with the idea after making fun of his sister when she was selling girly scented candles for a school fundraiser. Some of the scented candles he sells smell like pizza, bacon, sawdust, a leather baseball mitt, fresh cut grass, a campfire and Grandpa’s pipe. Hart bgegan his “Mancans” candle line last Thanksgiving and has already sold more than five hundred candles. They’re five dollars each and he’s made enough money so far to buy himself a bike. Don’t you love young entrepreneurs?
