The Italian-American Festival In Utica Is Growing
My father who lives in Florida, is visiting us this week. We have Italian heritage in our family so I just had to take him to the festival yesterday. If you missed it, you missed out on some great food. Italian sausage sandwiches with peppers, pasta fagioli, Sicilian rice balls and my son Dylan's favorite, dipped fresh dough or the pizza fritte — fried dough sprinkled with sugar.
The 34th Utica Boilermaker Is In The Books
And again, Ridouane Harroufi from Morocco is a 2nd time winner of the Utica Boilermaker 15K road race. He also won in 2009.
15K is about 9.3 miles of running but as I noted live on Lite 98.7 just before the cannon blast, the path to the starting area adds just enough distance to total 9.87 miles. (okay I just made that up).
The New York State Fair Announces The Remaining Grandstand Acts
On Wednesday, the New York State Fair announced the remaining three acts in the 2011 Grandstand concert series, Ne-Yo and Cee Lo Green, Selena Gomez and 3 Doors Down. Tickets for the three shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9.
"The 2011 Grandstand concert series has really come together and it offers something for everyone - rock, pop, hip hop and country music," said Dan O'Hara, New York State Fair director who checked in with Mark Richards during the Lite 98.7 morning show.
