How To Honor The US Flag In Utica

Today is National Flag Day -- the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 . This was officially established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30, 1916. While Flag Day was celebrated in various communities for years after Wilson's proclamation, it was not until August 3, 1949, that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th of each year as National Flag Day.

Osama bin Laden Dead: Recapping 24 Unforgettable Hours In History

A late-night announcement made from the White House’s East Room on Sunday set the world aflutter, and news of the death of Osama bin Laden quickly spread across the globe. This after top officials met in the Situation Room and in real time watched the events unfold. I can't help but noticed the intense looks on their faces.

President Barack Obama announced Sunday night that bin Laden had been killed and his body taken into U.S. custody in Pakistan.

Word of the death of Al Qaeda’s leader quickly spread, and politicians, celebrities and athletes began releasing statements while crowds gathered across the country in celebration of bin Laden’s death.

The President Roasts Donald Trump At White House Correspondents’ Dinner [VIDEO]

When watching 30 Rock last week it was nice to see Condi Rice and Alec Baldwin take jabs at each other. It's refreshing to see us put our differences aside and have some fun. What amazed me the most that at the dinner, The President must of know of the Bin Laden developments and kept his cool. It looks like our nation’s President is having the last laugh.

Why Are We Not Jealous Of Kate Middleton?

From TheFrisky.com , Here are the top 5  reasons we're not jealous of Kate Middleton;

5. She Has To Be Perma-Poised In Public. We're thankful that we only need to untag a Facebook photo or two to erase any evidence that we were a tad wobbly at 2 am after one too many glasses of chardonnay. If Kate is photographed tipsy and squinty-eyed, she'll have everyone from Martin Bashir to the Queen on her case.

Utica Safe Schools ‘Build A Bike’ Campaign

You can still drop off you new or used bikes for distribution next week at 'The Shopps At The Finish Line'. They're located at 809 Court St. at the corner of Varick across from the brewery. As you can see, I dropped off Marks 'Mongoose' bike that he out grew and, it is actually missing a peddle. Not to worry, a staff of dedicated volunteers are working all day long to repair bikes for the needy kids in our community.

Pia Toscano Eliminated From ‘American Idol’

To me, this is the most shocking elimination of the season. I'm surprised the judges weren't able to Pia Toscano.

The 22-year-old beauty, who wowed America early on with such performances as ‘I’ll Stand By You,’ ‘All By Myself’ and this week’s ‘River Deep, Mountain High,’ left the show last night and now 'Idol' is down to just eight contestants.

Both the judges and the audience were clearly stunned by the results, including Jennifer Lopez, who was in tears. Randy Jackson couldn't hide his shock, either; the visibly flustered judge could barely keep his jaw off the ground after host Ryan Seacrest read the results.

Still, a tearful Toscano left season 10 on a high note with a beautiful reprise of her hit performance ‘I’ll Stand By You.’
