Not only did strong wind gusts cut power to nearly 1,200,000 utility customers from the Great Lakes to the central Appalachians, it caused all sorts of damage all over New York. Here's a look at some of the photos posted on social media.
Winter's not quite over yet. While most of the snow has melted in Central New York, there is still some on the ground in Old Forge. And this weekend will be the perfect chance to keep winter alive a little longer.
The National Weather service is reporting that a cold, Canadian high pressure system will track towards Central New York early in the weekend. What that means for us, it will be very cold for the Heart Run and Walk.
Unfortunately, this winter we've gotten FEET of snow...then rain. Then more snow and another thaw. This weekend (February 24-26, 2017) would have been the rescheduled Boonville Snow Festival, but it has been cancelled again.
