A new exclusive social media experience called WhoSay.com is drawing the attention of stars like Tom Hanks, Sarah Silverman and Lindsay Lohan away from Facebook and Twitter.
While many celebrities regularly use basic social media sites, they come with a risk. Stars don’t have copyright protection over what they post and could lose possible revenue derived from their writing, photos and videos.
Despite being called “social media,” sites such as Facebook and Twitter are often used by people who have little face-to-face interaction with one another — even if they’re in the same city. But a new social network called Nextdoor is hoping to change that.

October 24, 2011 As heard on your information update this morning, internet users will now be able to see the view from the Statue of Liberty's torch when five webcams on it will be turned on Friday (October 28th) during a ceremony to commemorate the statue's dedication 125 years ago. The webcams, which will be on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, will offer four views, including a 180-degree view of New York Harbor, of visitors on Liberty Island below, and of the torch itself and Lady Liberty's tablet.

Facebook announced a big overhaul of their user profile design at yesterday’s f8 developers conference. The redesign includes a chronological sorting of each user’s life in a feature they’ve dubbed the Timeline.
The feature automatically sorts all of a user’s Facebook activity over time (so you’ll be able to easily access those embarrassing wall exchanges with your old exes) and offers the ability to upload images or video from years past (your oversharing childhood pal is salivating over this).
