One of the biggest problems New Yorker's have is when someone assumes we all live in New York City. There are plenty of places to live upstate and all across Central New York. Recently, 101USA took a look at the top small cities in New York. 2 Central New York locations made an appearance on the list. 

Here's the two cities that made the list:

Skaneateles

Coming in at number 13, Skaneateles.

Skaneateles is a lake town and popular activities include boat excursions as well as an annual watercraft festival, the Skaneateles Antique and Classic Boat Show, according to an events list on the town’s official website. Located in picturesque Onondaga County, the population was 2,450 as of the 2010 census."

 

Cooperstown

Coming in at number 3 on the list, Cooperstown.

The town’s official website boasts of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum as well as the site where author James Fenimore Cooper wrote his masterpiece “The Last of the Mohicans.” Also, visitors may choose to visit the Farmers’ Museum or the Glimmerglass Opera for two very divergent activities. The New York State Historical Association also calls Cooperstown home. There’s certainly an amazing amount of history stuffed within this small community’s borders, which welcomes thousands of tourists each year."
