Central New York Diner Baking Up CBD Oil-Infused Cupcakes

A Central New York diner has something new on the menu: CBD oil-infused edibles.

The Hamlet Diner in Chittenango is offering cupcakes infused with CBD oil, a concentrated extract of CBD — a compound of marijuana.

CBD oil is perfectly legal in New York, and it won't get you high but some people say it helps with everything from chronic pain to anxiety. The cupcakes at the Hamlet Diner are baked by Dawn McCarthy and her daughter, Alexandria. According to CNYCentral.com, ever since they started offering the CBD oil-infused treats, demand has "taken off."

In fact, the bakery case featuring the cupcakes often has to be refilled over the course of the day. The cupcakes are available in flavors like red wine chocolate “drunken” cupcakes, peanut butter and grape jelly cupcakes, triple berry cheesecakes and gluten-free options like pineapple upside down cakes and vanilla marshmallow cupcakes with peanut butter chips, according to Eagle News Online.
