Would you rather spend an afternoon raking leaves, or admiring them?

Autumn in Central New York means crisp walks along the Erie Canal, cool bike rides around Lake Delta, sipping cider from Twin Orchards, and taking in the beautiful foliage in Old forge. The Mohawk Valley Fall activity list is limitless, and for many of us, autumn is our favorite season of the year.

Do you ever wonder why kids don't mind raking, but we adults seem to despise the task? I never minded raking up big piles of leaves when I was a kid because I knew I'd eventually be jumping into them. At my grandparents’ home in Frankfort, my sister and I used to leap off picnic tables, off the porch, and even out of trees.

Now that I'm older, I still enjoy jumping into leaves; I rarely look forward to raking them however. If you'd prefer to spend your colorful fall weekend leaf peeping in the Adirondacks instead of leaf raking in Utica then you should watch this short video.

Just Jen and I talked about this clever trick this morning.
