In case you're already spending that money in your head, the cash payout would be $125 million.  Not too shabby at all.  By the way, $250 million is Mega Millions' biggest amount in 20 months.

According to philly.com, changes made in late October make it tougher to win,  The odds on winning with one ticket are 1 in 259 million.  So don't be surprised if that $250 million jackpot gets bigger.

Also, the first five Mega Millions numbers now go as high as 75, which makes it less likely people playing birthdays and ages are going to win.

I don't normally buy lottery tickets but I might have to now for a chance at $250 million.  Will you too?

lso, the first five numbers now go as high as 75 in Mega Millions, which means that people playing popular low numbers, like dates, months or children's ages, are less likely to hit all their numbers than in the past.
