The Mexican-American Pioneer Show ‘Chico & The Man’ [VIDEO]

Chico and the Man was a sitcom that ran on NBC for four seasons starting in 1974 to July 1978. It stared the late Jack Albertson as Ed Brown. Perhaps you could call him ‘the man’ who was the grumpy owner of a run down garage in East LA. Freddie Prinze starred as Chico, an upbeat, optimistic Hispanic young man who comes in looking for a job.

Many young Americans learned what drug abuse can lead to when after struggling with depression and drug use, Freddie Prinze shot himself on January 28, 1977. He was taken off life support and died of his injuries the following day at the age of 22.
