Chipotle Mexican Grill in New Hartford is taking part in a fundraising effort this Friday, to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Let me just say, I usually don't write stories or posts like this. But the Muscular Dystrophy Association is an organization that is near and dear to my heart, and whatever I can do to help them, I will. And that includes spreading this message.

Earlier this week, I saw a post on Facebook from Chipotle, stating that on Friday, March 16th from 10:45am to close, they're going to be donating 50% of their proceeds to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Here's the catch though, you have to be wearing green (which most of us will be anyway, seeing as St. Patrick's Day is the following day) AND you have to show them the Chipotle Facebook Post on your phone, or just mention that you're supporting the cause. The Facebook Post mentioned Chipotle locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont will be taking part in this fundraising effort, but you know how there are sometimes catches or some locations don't participate. I called the New Hartford Chipotle and the manager said they ARE participating in this tomorrow.

Just by going out to lunch on Friday, or bringing dinner home for the family, you can help out the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Like I mentioned before, this organization means a lot to me. First of all, MDA uses 74 percent of all funds raised for research, education, and services. The rest of the money is to support the staff and to put on events (which is a better percentage than many, MANY organizations out there. You've heard of 10-cents out of every dollar going to help a cause... It happens a lot). And the other reason MDA is so important to me is because I've seen firsthand, how they help families in need. My brothers were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and MDA made it possible for them to attend camp every summer, and give them a more normal life.

Honestly, I've never had Chipotle before... Tomorrow will be my first time there. But I'm more than happy to give my money to a business that helps out charities and organizations.
