The trend in recent years has been for stores to open earlier and earlier on Thanksgiving in order to get a head start of the madness of Black Friday.  However, this year, the trend seems to be reversing.  Many will allow all of their employees and customers to enjoy the holiday with family and friends.

According to BestBlackFriday.com, these are the stores that will not open on Thanksgiving in 2016.

-AC Moore

-Ace Hardware (some locations)

-Barns & Noble

-Bed Bath & Beyond (some locations)

-Best Buy

-BJ's Wholesale Club

-Burlington

-GameStop (opening @ 5am Friday)

-Home Depot

-Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores

-Lowe's

-Marshalls

-Nordstrom

-Office Depot and OfficeMax

-PetSmart

-Peir 1 imports

-Raymour and Flannigan

-Sam's Club

That's the list may grow between now and Thanksgiving, although many other retailers have already announced their full holiday season schedule.
