If you recently purchased bagged vegetables from CNY Aldi, Walmart, or Trader Joe's, you'll want to check that package.

Mann Packing is conducting a voluntary recall of bagged vegetables due to contamination with listeria. According to the recall notice, "The recalled product has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women."

The recall includes brands sold at Walmart, Aldi, and Trader Joe's across the US and Canada. You can view a full list of the products and determine whether your product is included in the recall at www.fda.gov/safety/recalls.

Many of the products included broccoli florets or cauliflower, and most were minimally processed.

The recalled products were distributed throughout the United States and Canada with "best if used by" dates from October 11 to October 20 listed on the front of the packaging.
