The Most Beautiful College Campus in New York Can Be Found in Central New York
New York has tons of colleges, and many of those colleges can be considered "beautiful." But one college stands above the rest.
The good people at Travel and Leisure took a look at colleges all across the country and found the most beautiful college in each state. No surprise Yale University took home the beautiful-title for Connecticut. And Princeton University was named most beautiful in New Jersey. But when it comes to New York, you won't find the most beautiful college in or even near the city. Nope, the most beautiful college in our state is a little closer to our area.
Actually, the most beautiful college in New York is less than an hour away from the Utica/Rome area. We're talking about Colgate University in Hamilton. According to TravelAndLeisure.com,
...Perhaps it’s the fact that it’s in the middle of nowhere, but the whole place just seems unspoiled. Entire forests, rolling hills, and a campus lake are a perfect complement to the traditional collegiate architecture.
And they're definitely right about the "unspoiled" beauty of this college. With it being in the Central New York area, we know what our landscape and scenery offers. We know we get the best of both worlds. We get the nature-side with all the trees and waterways, but we're not tucked away too far from everyday civilization. And this isn't the first time Colgate University has been named "most beautiful." Back in 2014, the Princeton Review gave the university this honor. Actually, Colgate has taken home a lot of positive titles in the last few years. They've been named one of the top colleges in our state by Niche.com back in 2015. They were also named one of the best liberal arts colleges by US News and World Reports, back in 2016.
