Colorado Insurance Company Paying People To Lose Weight

Obesity is still a huge topic in America. It seems every other day we get a new report on what foods are deemed as good, and what foods are deemed as good. It can get rather boring right? It seems like the same news over and over again. Well it’s about time for someone to get creative in our attempts to end obesity, and get Americans healthy.
Insurance company Kaiser Permanente is offering the people of Colorado cash to lose weight and keep it off. That’s right, they will pay you to lose weight, and keep it off. Participants in the “Weigh and Win” program earn anywhere from $15 to $150 every three months to lose weight and keep it off. Finally, a reason for me to get in shape, for the cash! Kaiser is putting up the first $500,000 to start the program, which it hopes will eventually be funded by the cities and other health care groups that it’s working with.
Here’s how it works: kiosks with scales and video cameras record progress in medical facilities, recreation centers, libraries and even a furniture stores throughout the state. Once progress is seen, they dish out the cash. But the important part is, not the cash. It’s progress.
Do you think this is a creative idea to lose weight? If not what do you think would work?
