After two near misses the Utica Comets will return home on Wednesday night for Game 3 of the Calder Cup Finals facing a 2-0 deficit to the Manchester Monarchs.

The Monarchs held home ice and grabbed Games 1 and 2 this weekend, both in overtime, 3-2 on Saturday night and 2-1 on Sunday. It marks the first time since early March that Utica has lost back-to-back games. The good news is, the last time it happened they responded with their season-best ten-game winning streak.

Thus far, Utica has been handily out-shout by Manchester: 37-17 and 39-25, respectively.

The Utica Aud is set to host Games 3, 4 and 5 of the series this week. The Comets announced sellouts for all three just hours after the box office opened on Friday.
